Hope Spreads Like Wildfire

The City of Angels has never before seen such devastation that the howling hurricane-force winds brought to the fires in early January. In only a few hours’ time, neighborhoods were leveled, and people fled for their lives. Springing Into Action for Our Beloved Community

Even though there are clearer skies, the gray clouds loom over the City of Angels, and here at bTF we are doing our best to provide a rainbow, or at least a ray of hope for pet parents across the community. The skyrocketing costs of vet care, food, and housing is making it harder than ever for pet families to stay together. Animal shelters are overcrowded with pet surrenders and pets found on the streets where people have abandoned them. Rescues are full and adoption rates are not keeping up.

Running into November Thanks To You!

With Thanksgiving and the holiday season right around the corner, we here at bTF want to share our heartfelt gratitude for all you do and give as our supporters. We would not be here if you were not here. It’s been a tough year everywhere, including in our community, and you have shown up again and again to keep pets out of the already-crowded shelter system and stay with the people who love them. A can of cat food, access to vet care, a redemption fee can all be accounted for in terms of monetary value, but the relief you provide to pet parents with your donations is priceless. We thank you for all you’ve given and all you do, this year and every year. The Heat is On!

The temperature’s rising and so is our community’s needs! Just because the sun shines, doesn’t mean there aren’t dark times for some pet parents. The requests for assistance are pouring in from all sides. The shelter hours have increased so we’re meeting more people in person while still responding to the calls, emails, and texts for pet food, support for veterinary care, and other resources to help pets stay with the people they love. Take a look at what’s in store this summer, what we plan for cooler weather, and get to know our Shelter Intervention Coordinators who field all those requests, providing pet parents with the options and resources they need to keep their families together.
